Attorney Answers Hillsborough County Car Accident QuestionI was in an auto accident in Hillsborough County, Florida, with an at fault driver with no car insurance. I live in Florida. I was rear ended recently by a driver that had been canceled by her insurance a month before the accident. My car is totaled and I have medical bills I have to pay that she or her insurance should have paid. What do I do at this point? I don't have uninsured motorist coverage, just full liability no collision since my car is considered old (1994) by my insurance company. Someone please help what should I do?
Attorney's Response to Car Accident Question from Hillsborough CountyProbably your best bet would be to sue the other driver in small claims court. The limit is $5000. If your damages are higher than that, you'd have to forego them. Otherwise you'd need to hire an attorney and sue in a regular court, but that would cost you some money.
