Attorney Answers Nassau County Car Accident QuestionDriver who hit me has inadequate insurance. I was involved in a car accident that was clearly not my fault. Now it looks like the person at fault may not have enough insurance to cover the repairs to my car and my medical expenses. What happens now? He does have a house here by a beach in Nassau County. If you have uninsured or underinsured or collision insurance, contact your insurance company -- you have a right to collect under your own policy -- under the collision coverage there is a deductible. Further, your rates cannot go up simply because the other side didn't have enough coverage.
