Article: How To Find The Right Attorney In A Tire Defect Case

Free Case Evaluation

Product liability lawyers are a dime a dozen, right? Wrong. When your dealing with a specialized product, hiring a specialized attorney who understands the product’s background and the manufacturer’s way of dealing with problem, can change the equation from ‘dime a dozen’ to ‘one in a million’.

This is especially true when dealing with tire defect cases such as the Goodyear G 159 275/70. The tire has been the source of controversy for many years. It was designed to equip very large recreational vehicles (RVs) – some of them weighing 33,000 pounds. Due to the large load, accidents tend to be on a larger scale and have shocked many owners who claim that their tires were nearly brand new when they exploded. Adding insult to injury, Goodyear has only instituted limited recalls of the tire and has actually blamed consumers for over and under inflation of the tires. These facts alone make it difficult for the average consumer to fight against a corporate giant like Goodyear.

Can the right attorney really help?

Yes, yes and yes – but with one caveat – they should have specific experience in dealing with the product in question and preferably with the manufacturer of that product. We asked Rick Morrison and a member of the Advocate Law Group network who specializes in tire defects whether there was any special certification needed for this type of case and what consumers can do to hire the right attorney. He said, “There aren’t any special certification, however, there are certain trial certifications and those are important. The best thing a consumer can do is research.

Go on the Internet and look at the firm’s website to see what kind of experience they have. One of the most important things you need to find out is how much experience the attorney has because these are difficult cases to pursue. You need an attorney who has handled the cases in the past because the companies will definitely have that type of representation.”
