Verdicts & Settlements
Jason recovered the policy limits of a commercial tractor trailer for the children of a single mother who was killed when the tractor trailer cut in front of her. The children also sustained serious injuries requiring surgery. Jason also prepared and successfully argued an emergency petition for custody for the maternal grandmother so the children were not placed in foster care. Jason successfully represented a young girl who was victimized by a family friend. The family never knew that the friend had a violent past. He previously spent time in jail for child molestation-related charges. The friend\'s parents, who shared the house with the molester, knew about this past and never told our clients. Jason settled a claim for a movie theater patron who sustained a torn meniscus requiring surgery after she slipped and fell on food which was left on the floor from prior patrons. The movie theater had a duty to clean and maintain their theater. Jason argued that they failed to conduct proper maintenance and was able to recover a settlement for his client. Jason successfully represented a young handicapped man who was driving his handicapped accessible van one night and was struck head-on by a drunk driver. The drunk driver\'s vehicle blew up, killing both the driver and his passenger. Our client was in a coma for several months and sustained brain damage. A confidential settlement was reached. Jason represented the family of a young man who was killed as a passenger in a car driven by a drunk driver. The family pursued a claim against the drunk driver and the nightclub, which served all of the vehicle patrons. Since two of the passengers were under 21, including the boy who was killed, Jason was able to successfully pursue a claim under Florida\'s dram shop law against the nightclub for knowingly serving an underage customer alcohol. Over the past several years, Jason has successfully negotiated settlements on cases against drunk drivers, vehicle owners who are negligent and allow a drunk driver to drive their vehicle, company owners whose employees drive company vehicles while intoxicated, and restaurants and bars who serve someone underage which results in a later accident causing injury or death. After drinking a frozen drink with shards of glass blended in it, a young lady on her honeymoon contacted Jason for help. After investigation, Jason found that the cruise ship bartender used another glass as an ice scooper and accidentally broke the glass in the ice bucket. The bartender then scooped the ice and glass mixture into a blender and served our client the dangerous cocktail. The case was amicably settled immediately after the lawsuit was filed. Jason successfully represented a cruise ship passenger who was injured when he slipped and fell on a large puddle of water near the pool deck.
