John Compatore has been practicing family law, exclusively, in California and Washington since 1982. While John maintains an active practice in King and Snohomish counties, he also accepts representation for Kitsap and Pierce counties, where his investment of time is expected to be substantial, requiring more than a few hours for court appearances. John serves the King County Superior Court as a volunteer settlement master, and routinely mediates dozens of cases on a yearly basis. John also maintains a mediation practice for Seattle-Snohomish County cases.

John is the father of four children (ages 40 - 18), and the grandfather of 6 children (1, 5, 7, 12 and 14). John is actively engaged in the lives of his children and grandchildren giving him a solid understanding of their needs and wants. On these bases John is often retained on child custody and child relocation cases, where he has been able to protect children during court actions, to safeguard their rights and interests in drafting court orders and settlement agreements, and to provide for mechanisms that will put written orders into effect.
