Am I entitled to compensation from a doctor who, during a hysterectomy, caused permanent damage due to his negligence?

Question Details:I had a total hysterectomy about 3 years ago. The doctor cut the ureter to my kidney. I have to have 3 different procedures to repair the ureter. I have had numerous problems since then. I have continuous bladder or kidney infections and have kidney stones at least twice a year. I never had those problems before this happened. I have had a lot of pain and I cannot hold my urine and now have incontinence. My doctor told me that I will have kidney stones and incontinence for the rest of my life. I just found out that due to the scar tissue, my intestines are fused to by abdominal wall.

Consult a medical malpractice attorney in your area as soon as possible. After reviewing all the facts of your case, as well as your medical record, the attorney can determine if you have a legitimate claim for medical malpractice. But do it immediately because the statute of limitations is running.  I don't know the facts of your case, but it appears that you have a claim. Cutting the urethra to your kidney appears to be medical negligence and you are certainly suffering physical damages because of it.
