I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  Whether your PA teacher career is affected by the conviction is up to the school board.  some school boards will take this very seriously as they do not want to have teachers at their school with criminal records, especially if they are around kids as parents are likely to find out and be upset with the school.  I suggest that you try to work out a deal with the state that does not involve a guilty plea so you can save your teaching career.  I suggest that you obtain a lawyer to represent you here and try to get a resolution that permits to you to keep working.
