CAN I SUE MY DENTIST IF MY TONGUE IS PERMANENTLY NUMB FROM A BOTCHED PROCEDURE?

Question Details:I WENT TO MY DENTIST ON 07/0809 TO PREPARE MY TOOTH FOR A CAP. WHEN HE STUCK THE NUMBING NEEDLE IN MY MOUTH HE STRUCK A NERVE AND I HAD IMMEDIATE PAIN! I NOW AM STILL NUMB ON THE FULL LEFT SIDE AND TIP OF MY TONGUE. IT IS VERY PAINFUL! MANY DAYS IT PUTS ME IN TEARS. FOR SOME REASON IT FEELS LIKE IT IS BEING SCALDED OR ON FIRE ALSO WHEN I BRUSH MY TEETH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS PROBABLY PERMANENT. DO I HAVE ANY OPTIONS IN THIS MATTER?

While it is difficult to prove malpractice, it does seem to be your only course of action here.  You will need supporting documentation regarding the condition of your tongue now, from a medical practitioner.  Get on attorneypages.com and find an attorney in your area you specializes in med mal and dental mal cases.
