Can the mother of my child move out of state with my child without my permission?

Question Details:I've been seeing my daughter on a regular basis since she was 6 months old. Her mother recently decided she was going to up and move to Oklahoma to marry some guy in the army. I don't feel comfortable with this and want to see my daughter like i have been for the past few months. Can she just decide she is going to up and leave without telling me or is there something i can do to keep her here so that I can still have my visitation?

Generally, you cannot stop her from moving out of state, especially if she has a legitimate reason for moving. You do have a right, however, to have a relationship with your daughter. But you should make a custody/visitation plan with the mother of your child. You should consult a family law attorney in your area to draft the plan. Then you will have legal rights regarding the custody and visitation with your daughter.
