Does my boyriend need to go in for questioning if he was asked to go to the police station by a detective?

Question Details:He got a call from a detective today asking him to come in for questioning in regards to a theft at a previous job he had. They said he is not a suspect and they just need help identifying some employees. Does he need to go in for questioning? Should he get a lawyer?

So long as your boyfriend has not been served with any subpoena for any court matter he is under no legal obligation to go to the police station for questioning concerning some theft issue. He has the right to say nothing if he shows up. I suggest he may want to consult with an attorney about the matter and have an attorney present during the questioning should he choose to show.
