I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  With a lawyer or knowing the system you could probably string the process along for 10 months of so.  I just got done with a case that I kept it open for 1 year and my client finally came up with the money to get back on track paying the mortgage.  You should hire a lawyer to help you.  Otherwise, you can expect to be out in 5 months.
