I have a first time criminal charge for criminal damage of property what could happen?

Question Details:This is because I threw a brick at a car but the 2 males in the car were yelling racial slurs at my girlfriend and stopped in front of my house about to get out and I felt threatened and panicked, in fear for not only myself but my girl friend so I threw the brick.

I suggest that you hire an attorney as soon as possible.  Criminal damage of property is not the crime of the century, however, if you were acting in self-defense due to the racially-motivated nature of the incident, it is possible that a skilled criminal defense attorney could get the charges dismissed.  Of course, it will be essential for your attorney to obtain a statement from your girlfriend (and any other witnesses) to demonstrate that you were the target of racial slurs, and to therefore further demonstrate that it was reasonable for you to act in self-defense.  In any event, it would be foolish for you to try to proceed without an attorney when it is possible that you could obtain a favorable resolution.  Good luck.
