Legal seperation and custody.

Question Details:If a spouse filled for a legal seperation, could that spouse also begin custody proceedings, or does that have to wait until the divorce proceedings?

Usually, a legal separation proceeding is no different from a divorce, except that the marriage is not dissolved and so no grounds for that need to be established.  Otherwise, all the issues about child custody and support, property division and alimony can be addressed, and they should be dealt with at this stage of the game.
