What do I do if adjuster wants me to settle for next to nothing?

Question Details:When the adjuster called the day of the accident I said I was feeling disoriented and was going home early form work. He said to take an aspirin and said he would send me 350 for my trouble. I woke up with pain days later. I have seen a chiropractor and I have been in treatment. Adjuster is saying I must come in to speak with him if I want any more. Also asked for my SSN and husband's name. Is this legal.

The adjuster’s job is to try to pay you as little as they possibly can. Additionally, they typically try to get people to make statements that minimize the injury.   It’s unwise to meet with or make any statements to adjusters, or sign any paperwork, until after you consult with an attorney.  Even though you have already had a preliminary conversation you still should not meet them, or provide them with any further information,  without first securing legal representation.  Personal injury lawyers normally give a free initial consultation and handle cases for injured people on a contingency fee.
