If my nephew's mother died intestate, is his bedroom furniture part of the estate or his?

Question Details:May seem very petty but I am attempting to fairly distribute the assets of the estate. There are no bank accounts, no real estate, and a leased car.

Assets belonging to the person who passed away are part of that person's estate for accounting purposes. If the bedroom furniture belonged to a person other than the person who passed away (the nephew), then the bedroom furniture is not an asset of the estate that you are writing about.
