The police were at my house today for a fight my husband and step-son got into, what will happen?

Question Details:My husband called the police when his son physically attacked him. The police are filing charges against both since they both have marks. Nobody was taken to jail or arrested. We were told that each would get a summons to appear in court. Will my husband go to jail for this?

Well, it is too soon to tell if either will do time/go to jail.  Is their court appearance pretty soon? Has your husband every been in trouble before or arrested or convicted for anything? If so, was it ever for the same issue (domestic assault/battery/abuse)? If so, and his son is a minor, he may have an up-hill battle in dealing with any charges filed.
