Who is suppose to turn in the appeal in a disability case, the lawyer or me ?

Question Details:Went to Social Security office and filed for Disability. Before first answer, hired lawyer, she felt there would be no problem to get Disability. Received first turn down. I was told to get paperwork for appeal and turn it into lawyer. At this point I felt she would do the rest. Four months later I went to Social Security office to see how case was going. The Social Security office said they knew nothing of any case since the date four months back. I called lawyer back and she said I was to do the appeal.

The retainer agreement which you signed when you hired the attorney should specify the scope of legal representation and whether or not the attorney is to represent you in the appeal.

Several questions included in the packet you obtained for filing the appeal, requests information that only the client would know.
