Gordon T. Arnold
Gordon Arnold has been the lead attorney in many cases, both for plaintiffs and defendants. He has represented a variety of enterprises, in many industries, and he has counseled clients, both in the United States and internationally, on valuation and enhancement of IP portfolios and avoiding infringement.
Gordon received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas and his JD from the University of Houston College of Law. During that time he was an Associate Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and an intern to the late Hon. Normal Black of the Southern District of Texas.
He is a Board Member of the Christian Community Service Center, where he previously served on the Finance Committee.
He is a Past President of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association. He also serves as the Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law, which has been said to be the largest organization of intellectual property professionals in the world. Previously, he served as the Secretary and a three-year member of the Council of that organization. Gordon has been the Chair of the Patent Policy Committee of that same organization and represented the ABA in Congressional meetings regarding the funding of the Patent and Trademark Office and the pending Patent Reform legislation. He has also served as the Chair of the Amicus Committee of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association, and he is a past Chair of the Patent Law Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He is on the Board of that Association
In addition to his practice as an advocate and advisor, Gordon is a Member, by examination, of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a certified mediator. He has testified multiple times as an expert on licensing and patent law, and he has served as an arbitrator and mediator in many intellectual property disputes.
He has lectured on many intellectual property and antitrust matters to national audiences sponsored by the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Practicing Law Institute, LSI, LEI, the State Bar of Texas, and the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association.
He has also been a repeated guest lecturer in the Rice University MBA program on intellectual property strategy from the business perspective.
