About the Attorney:
Ms. Cooper heads the Tampa, Florida office and specializes in litigation and alternative dispute resolution and is an accredited Veteran's Affairs Attorney. Ms. Cooper has successfully used mediation, arbitration, neutral evaluation, and collaborative law for over a decade and has represented thousands of clients in both civil and criminal practice. As a civil litigator, Ms. Cooper represented and advised clients on a wide variety of matters relating to business law including helping clients form a new company or protect their current venture. Ms. Cooper has represented start-ups, established businesses large or small, and employers. She also handles cases involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), family law, and landlord/tenant disputes.



In her government practice, Ms. Cooper has served in Florida as both an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit and as an Assistant Public Defender in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. She has appeared before almost every judge in the Thirteenth Circuit and in one year alone argued and won over $600,000 in bond reductions.



Ms. Cooper provides civil litigation services in the areas of business and corporate law, family law, bankruptcy and intellectual property. She also provides counsel in the areas of estate planning, corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions and Government Contracts.



While in law school Ms. Cooper was selected to serve on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board and was honored to place first in the National Robert Merhige Environmental Negotiation Competition in Richmond, Virginia. She also completed a federal government litigation internship with the Department of Veteran Affairs at Bay Pines, Florida reviewing EEOC claims. She was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and the Student Bar Association.



Ms. Cooper sits on the Florida Bar Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee and is a native of Woodbridge, Virginia, graduating from Gar-Field High school. She graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in Government & International Politics.
