Can I sue the hospital regarding malpractice by its residents?

Question Details: I had my daughter almost 18 months ago. I had residents stitch me up who clearly were unsure and had someone come in and over see them. Well I've been in excruciating pain since. Sitting has always been painful and quality of life has not been the same. I had physical therapy and now may possibly have to have the area cut and restitched. Do I have a medical malpractice case against the hospital?
